Established in 1961, the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association is the organization, which represents Jamaican hotels, other visitor accommodations as well as most suppliers of goods and services to the tourism industry. The main aim of the JHTA is to promote the development of Jamaica’s hospitality industry and to represent the interests of its members in all fora, locally, regionally and internationally
JHTA promotes the interests of its members with government and its agencies, with other elements of the private sector and with international organizations. Through its association and representation on the Boards of Directors of the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) and the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) it ensures a strong voice for its membership in the development and marketing of Jamaica’s tourism. The JHTA is a major member of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica. Its participation ensures a leading role for the private sector’s interests in the policies and programmes of the PSOJ.
The Jamaica Manufacturers & Exporters Association (JMEA) is Jamaica’s leading industry association, serving as the voice of exporters, manufacturers, service providers, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). We provide vital support to our members and the industry through advocacy, strategic partnerships, export services, research, capacity building, and access to finance. The JMEA is committed to promoting Jamaican brands, which we have done both locally and internationally through our “Buy Jamaican, Build Jamaica” Campaign, the biennial Expo Jamaica, and Jamaica International Exhibition (JIE) tradeshows, among other initiatives. Our aim is to contribute to the growth and sustainability of Jamaican businesses and the economy.
Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) is the premier trade and investment promotions corporation representing the Government of Jamaica. Established as a statutory body under the JAMPRO Act, 1990, we promote business opportunities in export and investment to the local and international private sector.
In addition to facilitating the implementation of investment and export projects, we are a key policy advocate and advisor to the Government in matters pertaining to the improvements of Jamaica’s business environment.

The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), an agency of the Ministry of Tourism, is committed to ensuring that industry information is available to its affiliates and the public. The Tourism Information Publishing Site (TIPS) was established to serve as the main source of information on the marketing and development of Jamaica as the premier Caribbean tourist destination.
The Ministry of Tourism is responsible for the management and promotion of Jamaica’s tourism product.
The ministry has adopted the “New Tourism” approach to its long-term vision which will see a government entity that is more adaptable to the ever-changing environment facing world tourism.

The Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) is a statutory body under the Ministry of Industry Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries. RADA was established under the Rural Agricultural Development Authority Act of 1990, replacing the Land Authorities Act and began its operation on August 1, 1990. It is Jamaica’s chief agricultural extension and rural development agency.
The Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC) was established in 2001 as the premier government agency providing business development services to Jamaican Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs)…’From Concept to Market’. JBDC provides guidance for business start-ups and expansion, offering business advice and consultation, research services, business monitoring, training and capacity building, project management services, financial advice, design and product development as well as market penetration support and access. The organisation which operates within the ambit of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries (MICAF), strives to continually fuel the local economy through its services and programmes designed to support the growth and development of the MSME sector.
The Tourism Enhancement Fund’s role is to lead tourism innovation in the areas of transformational infrastructural and sustainable projects, human capital development and tourism linkages through the applied utilization of research data.
Utilizing its resources, the TEF partners with local, international, public and private stakeholders to advance the strategies of the Ministry of Tourism and its Agencies.
The Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) was established by the Government of Jamaica in 1996 as a limited liability company with a mandate to develop and improve the tourism product. In addition to the head office located on the 4th Floor of the Tourism Centre at 64 Knutsford Boulevard, there are three regional offices – Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Negril.
TPDCo, through its various departments, works closely with all operators of tourism- related facilities promoting the attributes of a quality product, monitoring same and engaging the Ministry of Industry and Tourism and the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) in a continuous effort to satisfy consumer demand and expectations. The Agency also facilitates the development of tourism-related projects by providing expertise and consultations. The company adopts, sets and promotes standards, guidelines and checklists for the industry in order to attain global competitiveness.
